The Kern County Central Valley Amateur Radio Club has been an asset to Kern County and neighboring cities since 1949. Our club offers licensing exams, mentoring and education in the hobby of amateur radio. We participate in Emergency Communications, Field Day, Support Your Park Day (POTA) and other public events. We are recognized by the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL) as a special service club for our commitment to the local community.
Our active membership shares in developing and promoting the knowledge and advancement of operating techniques and the technical skills related to radio communications.
In 2024 we celebrated the 75th year of our call sign, W6LIE.
