MAINE BULLETIN
Boat Anchor Hamfest
First Maine Hamfest of the year is Saturday, February 15 from 8am until noonat the Club Calumet, 334 West River RD, Augusta, ME. Admission $5. VE Session time to be determined. Hams Needed For Can Am Sled Dog Race
Northern Maine is looking for volunteers! Fort Kent, Maine is hosting the annual Can Am Crown of Maine sled dog races. The event runs March 1st, 2nd and 3rd. If you are interested in volunteering to work communications at Net Control, one of the checks points, or anywhere help may be needed, please reach out to the Can Am Comms Chief, James Jalbert, [email protected]. This is a great opportunity to use your ham radio skills, make some new friends, expand your network, and see the great Northern Maine in the winter time. Reach out to James for more info.

Both the Maine Emergency Communications Net and the Maine Seagull Net have reverted to winter start hours and now begin at 1630 (4:30pm) on 3.940 Mhz. SGN is M thru Sat and MECN is on 4th Sunday.

TESTING SESSIONS

Bring a legal photo ID or two alternate forms of ID as listed at (http://www.arrl.org/what-to-bring-to-an-exam-session) and your FRN (FCC Registration Number) gotten prior to the testing session. web page: fcc.gov for free. Bring the FRN and any certificates of successful completion of examinations, and copy of amateur radio license if applicable. The photocopies will not be returned. Persons needing special accommodations should check with the contact person. Face Masks may be required. Check with contact person for details and to confirm session dates, pre-registration, etc.
