I am getting ready to run a feed line from my den to my attic for a VHF antenna (HOA won't allow outdoor antennas). I eventually want add a multiband HF antenna in my attic for a future HF rig. Should I run two separate feed lines to my attic for future proofing or would it make more sense to run one feed line and use combining and dividing equipment? |

I would suggest two runs of coax if for no other reason than to keep it simple. Adding splitters, filters and switches adds additional losses to the already increased losses from an attic antenna installation. Bill |

The additional complexity adds more failure points which can be an issue if you are new to this. More places for error. Zak W1VT ARRL Senior Lab Engineer |
