Will dual band antenna work on a CB?

Greetings everyone, back in 2008, I picked up a nice mobile dual band unit, which came with a magnetic mount Amateur (144/440) Dual Band antenna for the car. I'm thinking about possibly getting a CB radio, and wanted to know if this antenna will work fine with the CB, or if I just need to go and spend the money on a CB antenna?
Thanks.
P.S. Not sure if my current email setup is working, so please send your replies to [email protected]

It worked! I just tried it out, did a radio check and the other guy said I was coming in loud & clear.

Just because someone else could hear you doesn't mean that the antenna doesn't have a high enough VSWR to blow the CB radio sooner or later, or that the antenna will work effeciently. If you don'yt have a VSWR meter designed for CB frequencies, get one along with a CB antenna.

CB is on 27 MHz, a long way from 146 MHz. Your SWR is going to be very high. It may work good enough for receive but not for transmit. Your transmit signal level will be very low and you may blow the final transistor. 73 Don KE8DO First class FCC radio-telephone license.
