AMSAT-DL President Peter Guelzow, DB2OS, to be AMSAT Space Symposium Presenter
AMSAT-DL President Peter Guelzow, DB2OS, will keynote AMSAT-NA’s 2016 Space Symposium this week. This year’s “Symposium at Sea” will take place on board a cruise ship that will set sail from Galveston, Texas, on November 10. Guelzow’s presentation is entitled, “Amateur Radio beyond Earth Orbit.”
AMSAT-NA President Barry Baines, WD4ASW, said Guelzow is in a unique position to provide details about the P4-A project (Es’hail 2) and how it will impact Amateur Radio communication from space under its footprint.
Guelzow became AMSAT-DL president in 2001, following the launch of AMSAT OSCAR-40 (P3-D). He was mission director for the launch campaign in Kourou, French Guyana.
An Amateur Radio operator since 1979, Guelzow has served in a variety of roles with AMSAT-DL since 1983. Professionally, he is an engineer responsible for production testing of vehicle multimedia and navigation devices. — Thanks to AMSAT News Service
