In Montana, Doug R. Dunn, K7YD, received 234 votes to James Fuller's, N7VMR, 73 votes. John Thomason, WB5SYT, won over Melvin Miller, K5KXL, 520 to 148 votes in Oklahoma. The new North Texas SM-elect is Roy Rabey, AD5KZ, who received 576 votes to defeat incumbent SM Larry Melby, KA5TXL, who had 499 votes, and M. Glenn Warnstaff, K5CPD, who received 303 votes. Jay Ostrem, W7CW, of Gillette, is Wyoming's new Section Manager, as outgoing SM Bob Williams, N7LKH, decided not to run. Five incumbent SMs earned new terms after running unopposed: John Meyers, NB4K, of Butler, Kentucky; Clifford Hauser, KD6XH, of Tucson, Arizona; Malcolm Keown, W5XX, of Vicksburg, Mississippi; Orange SM Joe Brown, W6UBQ, of Riverside, California, and Jim Lasley, N0JL, of Chillicothe, Iowa.
