ARLD018 DX news

This week's bulletin was made possible with information provided by
Rick, NE8Z, Tedd, KB8NW, the Yankee Clipper Contest Club
PacketCluster network and the Contest Corral column from the pages
of QST magazine. Thanks to all.

HUANG YAN DAO, AKA SCARBOROUGH REEF. BS7H is on the air from IOTA
AS-116. Operators BZ1HAM, BZ1OK, KC6KOU, KJ4VH, OH0XX and OH2BH
want to provide one QSO for as many stations possible rather than
make multiple band/mode QSOs with fewer stations. Check 3505, 7025,
14025 and 21025 kHz CW and 3785, 7045, 14195, 21295 kHz SSB. QSL
via JA1BK. A pirate was spotted on 15 meter CW prior to 0830z April
13.

TANZANIA. Eric, OH2BBF, should be arriving at Ngara April 14 to
start a two month stay. He is bringing a TS-50 and hopes to obtain
a license. Eric will try to make side trips to 5X, 9Q, 9U and 9X.
QSL via OH2BBF after he returns home.

CENTRAL KIRIBATI. Bill, T31JK is on the air from Canton Island. He
operates on 40 through 10 meters with SSB and CW, though he prefers
SSB. Check 20 meter SSB around 0830z. QSL T31JK via GW0OJK, Bill's
home call.

BRUNEI. V85GA sometimes operates from club station V85BG on 20
meter SSB. It has been reported that a new 160 meter antenna has
been installed.

AFGHANISTAN. Oleg, YA/UT9XL, has been heard on 14120 kHz around
1445z. He should continue to be active from the Ukrainian Embassy
in Kabul for 2 to 3 more months. QSL via PO Box 207 Pavlograd,
323012 Ukraine.

FRENCH POLYNESIA. Lou, LX1SP, should stay on Tahiti until April 21.
Listen for his SSB on 14340 or 21400 kHz between 1800 and 2000z.

WESTERN SAHARA. Tim, KC0PA, is now signing 4U/KC0PA instead of
S0/KC0PA. He has apparently obtained the appropriate approval from
the UN commander and thus the call sign change. QSL via VE9RHS.
S0RASD has been active on 75 and 17 meters.

MADAGASCAR. Ben, 5R8DS, has improved his 80 meter antenna. He uses
an inverted L 30 meters long and 15 meters high. The ground system
consists of 24 radials each 11 meters in length. He is active
mornings from 0230 to 0305z on 3606 kHz. Ben requests not to call
him on his frequency unless you really hear him. QSL via Ben
Witvliet, Box 404, Antananarivo 101, Madagascar.

MEXICO. Rick, NE8Z, will be signing XE3/NE8Z April 14 to 24 from
various sites on the Yucatan Peninsula. He will operate 160 through
10 meters with mostly CW and some SSB. QSL via K8LJG.

THIS WEEKEND ON THE RADIO. The Japan International DX Contest on
CW, sponsored by Five Nine Magazine, is from 2300z April 14 to 2300z
April 16. Operate 20, 15 and 10 meters only, exchanging RST and CQ
