Thanks to all. HEARD ISLAND DXPEDITION UPDATE. This operation remains on schedule. All cargo being held in Perth, Western Australia, will go aboard the DXpedition ship for a November 1 sailing date. 3Y0PI team members ON6TT, KK6EK, HB9AHL, JH4RHF, N6EK, PA3DUU, RA3AUU and K0IR are expected to arrive at Heard Island on or around November 12. Sea and weather conditions will no doubt have some bearing on how soon stations are on the air. Plans call for CW, SBB, RTTY and satellite activity until departure on December 1. Some innovations tested during the recent XR0Y operation from Easter Island will be used by the Heard Island team. Beacon station K6DIR/MM will be activated as the ship weighs anchor and will remain on the air until the team becomes active from Heard Island. He will be in Jakarta for 3 or 4 weeks and then plans a one week vacation on Christmas Island. From Jakarta he will try to operate as YB0ASI from the station of AA4U during CQWW SSB Contest.
