Last week in ARLP031 we reported the solar flux on July 24 was
66.7. It was really 66.2.

Solar activity has taken a jump this week, due to the return of
solar region 7978. The average solar flux was up about 10 points,
and the flux is peaking now above 80.

Geomagnetic activity is also up, with the K index reaching four on
July 29 and 31.

Watch for solar flux to stay around or above 80 for the next few
days, dropping down below 70 by August 9. It should rise up to 70
around August 22.

During this period 20 meters should be the best band during the
day, and 40 meters at night.

Sunspot Numbers for July 25 through 31 were 0, 11, 13, 16, 22, 28
and 34, with a mean of 17.7. 10.7 cm flux was 68.2, 70.2, 73.3,
75.5, 77.9, 79.9, and 80.2, with a mean of 75.
