Bud Tribble is Apple's vice president of Software Technology, and is responsible for the long term technical direction for operating system software. Tribble began his career at Apple in 1981 where he was manager of the original Macintosh Software team, helping to design the Mac OS and user interface.
In 1985, Tribble helped found NeXT Computer, where he was vice president of Software Engineering and a key architect of the NextStep operating system. He also worked at Eazel Inc. as was vice president of Engineering and at Sun Microsystems as chief technology officer .
His medical research background includes neurophysiology and mechanisms of epilepsy.

1983 MD-Ph.D. degree in Biophysics & Physiology from University of Washington, Seattle, Washington.
