2m/6m wire dipole

Hi- I'm extremely limited on funds and want to homebrew a 2m/6m horizontal, centerfed dipole. Buying one or buying a tuner is out of my range |

http://www.qsl.net/ylradio/dipole.html A simple 2M dipole that could be supported horizontally or vertically. A balun would reduce noise picked up by the coax shield. http://forums.qrz.com/index.php?threads/making-a-balun-for-a-2-meter-j-pole.241824/ I measured 3 turns of RG58, solenoid wound with a 1.5" internal diameter, to be self resonant in the 2m band. Anything radically different in number of turns or diameter had mediocre choking impedance.73,Steve G3TXQ If you are on a budget it may make sense to make a separate dipoles for 6 and 2M. I assume you need a horizontal dipole for 2M SSB. Horizontal polarization is cross polarized to the vertical polarization that is the convention for 2M FM and digital voice and will not work properly on those modes unless the other station switches over simplex radio link.
